Why advertise on The Daily Column?

1. Because we receive thousands of page views each day.  Notice that I refer to page views rather than hits. That's because the number of hits a website receives is meaningless. A hit is represents any time any item on a web page is viewed by a visitor. So, if a website has 1 page with 20 graphics on it, each time one person visits it, 20 hits will register! Not very accurate as you can see. On the other hand, page views indicate the number of full pages that have been viewed. So, if one person visits a site, that will register as one page view. As you can see, the number of page views a website receives is a much more meaningful figure. At this writing (March, 10, 2003), The Daily Column receives about 270,000 page views each month, or about 9,000 page views per day.

2. Because it's inexpensive.  We charge only $100.00 for a full-size random rotating banner for 30 days. That's only $3.33 a day. Where else can your advertisement be seen that often for that price? Plus, we run a maximum of 10 banner ads at a time, so your banner ad wont get lost among thousands of banners on some banner exhange program.

3. Because our audience is local.  Most of our viewers are Connecticut-based, and most of them are located in the Southern Connecticut. The Daily Column is the perfect place to advertise your Connecticut-based business.

Where do you get the banner?

I will create a standard, non-animated banner for you at no charge. Or, if you prefer, you can do-it-yourself by using any popular graphics program, or one of the free banner creation services such as this one, or this one. Your banner must be a standard 468 x 60 pixel banner ad, fewer than 20,000 bytes and must be in JPG or GIF format.
