Calling God

In the movie "Bruce Almighty," God's phone number is apparently repeatedly displayed on the Jim Carrey's pager whenever the Lord tries to summon him. Well, instead of using a "555" number, Universal Pictures used a number that matches more than 30 listings nationwide. Those folks are pissed.

You can be rewarded with $ 1 million if you can find this nickel.

Bob Hope, who is sadly now near deaf and blind turns 100 years old today. Happy Birthday Bob.

An Iraqi man who was condemned to death by Saddam Hussein 21 years ago has emerged from a tiny wall cavity in his parents' house where he has been hiding for the past two decades.

In Britain, an Iranian asylum seeker, who is protesting against the possibility of being deported, has stitched up his lips, eyes and ears, and he is on a hunger-strike. Last week it was a guy sitting on a milk-crate, this week it's a woman, 6 months pregnant, sitting on a set of subway stairs. Looks like NYC police can't stand to see people sitting.

Idiot: A 13-year-old Ohio boy who wanted to make his own version of "Jackass: The Movie" threw a cup of boiling water on his best friend as he slept, causing second-degree burns.

Part-time photographer Brian Smith sent me a photo of an albino squirrel. Thanks, Brian.

This is a very funny story.

What the hell is the problem with kids these days? A 12-year-old Bronx girl yesterday gave out sleeping pills to eight classmates at school.

Here's a great listing of Americana. It's an online guide to offbeat attractions called Roadside America. (Thanks for the submission, Michael.)

It's almost summer.
