Thursday, July 31, 2003Sorry about the re-runs...Richie and I ought to spend some time reading each other's columns, huh? We both keep posting things the other has posted. Oh well, I guess you can consider those instances "re-runs." You may have heard about the woman who she was their daughter who had been missing since 1986. Well, it turns out that it was a hoax. The very last VW Beetle (the old style) roll off the assembly line in Mexico. This should be interesting: Hormel filed two legal challenges with the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office to try to stop SpamArrest from the name "Spam," for which it holds the trademark. Oddly enough, back in 1998 I spoke with the General Counsel of Hormel about using the word "Spam" with my former SPAMFREE.NET service. He told me then that I had Hormel's permission to use the name. I think they're gonna lose this one. Now that's a lot of potties. Health officials in Chechnya claim that the world's oldest living person is living there. They say Zabani Khachukayeva is 124 years old. If true, she is nine years older than the Kamato Hongo from Japan, who will celebrate her 116th birthday in September. Aristotelis Belavilas was so fed up waiting three hours to see his doctor that he sued him in small claims court in Las Vegas and was awarded $365. Milwaukee hairstylist Erica Grabczyk has launched a promotion called "Ta Ta Tuesdays," offering her clients, all of whom are male, the opportunity to contribute to her breast implant fund. Her clients have the option to pay $50 for their haircut, with $35 going towards the fund. Here's a fun parking game. This, my friends, is utterly disgusting. |
