Rich's Monday Super Column

Let me start out by thanking Hootie in advance for covering for me while Im away in 2 weeks , Ohh and thanks for the picture of the naked 12 year olds on the boat ( jesus man , check some ID's before you post that stuff ) in yesterdays column.

Now I want to address this whole Same Sex Marriage thing in CT because I never really had any thoughts on it because it was never in our state but here it is and now Im ready to talk .

I am kinda in the middle on this because I can go both ways on it ( insert joke here ) . One one hand I say people should be able to love who they want and if they feel that thier love is strong enough and deep enough they should have the right to get married no matter what sex they are . I mean Gay people are active in the community , they are people just like you and me and who am I to say that they shouldnt have the same rights as you and I ? We are all humans and should be treated equally ...right ?

Now on the other hand there are a few things that I disagree with about it . First off there is Gods will which is why he created man & woman ,defying Gods law and all laws of nature.. I can not honestly believe that God created men for men and women for women ..its not natural-which is obvious.. people need to realize that you can not act on all your thoughts and feelings.. say someone thinks they are in love with 2 men ..is that ok ?? how about with a child ?? how about animals ??

Then there is the children factor which is probably the hardest thing to explain . How would you as a parent try to explain to your child when he asks about the 2 men kissing on the street ? Do you tell him it is perfectly normal even though you dont think so because society allows it now ? All these parents with Gay children say that they are fine with thier children being gay and will love them no matter what they were are a little confused even though they probably do think that way now . I'll bet 1,000,000 to 1 that if they had thier choice they would want thier child to be straight and that means deep down they would not be as "OK" as they say they are now about it .

Then you have the over the top gay people which we all know at least one of them , who think they can say and do anything they want to anyone they want because they are gay. PLEASE STOP flaunting it in our faces , we are just warming up to the idea of this and by you shoving it down our throats make us want to fight back more against it .

So as you see , I have 2 different views on this so maybe you guys can shed a little light on your views about it in the forums today.
